Endofeminina reaches its twentieth edition in 2024
Posted February 9, 2024
Endofeminina 2024, which takes place on March 22 and 23, reaches a historical milestone: 20 editions. A date that deserves reflection because it shows the extent to which Women’s Endocrinology has been widely studied, researched, and debated among experts. The meeting will be physically held at Hotel Plaza São Rafael, in Porto Alegre, in addition to the online platform.
Importance of the theme
A quick search on Google using the expression ‘women’s endocrinology’ shows almost 250 thousand hits. Therefore, the meeting to discuss the theme becomes even more important.
This year there will be eight symposia, and interested individuals can already check the schedule and register to the event.
Due to the excellent results from previous meetings, Endofeminina 2024 repeats the choice for a hybrid event as a good alternative for participants. Registered individuals will also be able to review the content during one month after the closure of the event.
New formats for scientific debate, after the pandemic, have been adapted to online versions, and discussions have not been interrupted; however, the possibility of exchanges through in-person talks becomes valued again.
Themes and schedule
The scientific schedule was elaborated to highlight the progress made, indicate controversies, and present an update, based on the best evidence available on clinical conditions relevant in the area of Women’s Endocrinology.
The choice for the topics addressed in Endofeminina is always a time of much care and attention by its organizers, who are headed by Dr. Poli Mara Spritzer, the general coordinator of INCT Hormona, member of the board of directors of the Women’s Endocrinology Department of the Brazilian Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism (Sociedade Brasileira de Endocrinologia e Metabologia, SBEM), and vice president of the Latin American Association of Gynecological Endocrinology (Asociación Latinoamericana de Endocrinología Ginecológica, ALEG).
Scientific schedule repeats the solution of previous editions, being organized into two days. Lecturers will present essential topics for women’s health in the several stages of their lives.
Among these topics, there are symposia about Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (POS), vitamin D levels, diets, obesity, assisted reproduction, BMI, cancer, precocious puberty, IUDs, hormone therapies, care to women’s sleep and mood, osteoporosis, and cardiovascular risk.
Dr. Spritzer comments that, as always, the event will count with the participation of lecturers experienced in medical practice, committed to clinical research, and motivated to disseminate knowledge and interact with the audience. “It will also be a great opportunity to disseminate studies, discuss new results, or keep up scientific production in the area, developed in our setting,” reinforced the expert.
Women’s care
There has been a great advance in the area of Women’s Endocrinology over the years, and it essential to be updated about scientific discussions. The construction of knowledge and practical application in all stages of women’s lives, with reflections from important Brazilian experts and international guests, are key points for those interested in attending Endofeminina. As always, Endofeminina will pursue medical-scientific quality, in an environment of pleasant interaction among professionals, clinicians, researchers, and students.
